Outdoor Provision for Children of Key Workers

Nurture Outdoor Kindergarten is built upon the values that underpin our community - respect, commitment, compassion and courage. We are passionate about supporting community work, and have a limited number of spaces for children of key workers at this time. We are running an outdoor programme for these families at our unique outdoor setting. We will be making use of our extensive enclosed outdoor areas, outdoor hand-washing facilities, and indoor toilets and sinks.

At the heart of this programme are our dedicated staff - outdoor practitioners, with the passion and expertise to offer children a unique escape into nature and outdoor play.

Kindergarten is being asked to continue to provide care for a limited number of children - children who are vulnerable and children whose parents are critical to the Covid-19 response and cannot be safely cared for at home.

The advice continues, "if children can stay safely at home, they should, to limit the chance of the virus spreading."

Essential Info

Who May Attend

Places are available for children due to start school in September 2020 (Nursery Education Funding can be used where available), children in reception, year 1 and year 2 (to the age of 8 years old).

Parents are expected to evaluate their child prior to registration. They should be ready to be at Kindergarten for a full day with no parent contact. Parents should think carefully before registering a child who has had limited time away from home or is not excited about attending. Please note, the Kindergarten is not in a position to offer refunds after April 2020.

What You Need to Bring

All children must bring their own snack and lunch. Please note that we are not providing refrigeration except for medications, so lunches should contain non perishables.

Kit List:

A backpack with:

  • Water bottle, snack and lunch
  • At least one change of clothes

  • Waterproofs (including coat and dungarees/trousers)
  • Welly boots / sturdy closed toe shoes
  • Comfortable trousers
  • Long sleeve top
  • Vest and fleece / wool layers for cooler spring mornings

Remember, clothes are at risk from mud, paints, and stains so older play clothes are best.

You'll find us outside

We are an outdoor kindergarten, experienced in working outside with children. We believe passionately in the wonderful opportunities for all of us in spending time outdoors. These are unique times, and we have something unique to offer children needing childcare right now.
