This winter has been a mild one, consisting of incessant rain and storms. Thankfully, we've found the opportunity to share toasted marshmallows during our Friday bushcraft sessions. This is certainly a favourite activity among the older Kindergarten children, who are always keen to build a campfire.
On Saturday we headed into the green space for our first winter professional tour. During these tours we get the wonderful opportunity to meet with like-minded Early Years Professionals who are looking to set up or enhance their outdoor programme. We kept the group fuelled with some hot soup.
When we opened Nurture Outdoor Kindergarten almost 6 years ago, Helen and I imagined a place where community was at the heart. We dreamt of having a kindergarten that embodied connection and authentic relationships. Our community has continued to grow over the last 5 years, and we feel privileged to have spent this time getting to know our kindergarten families.
We love this time of year! The weather surprises us and we try to keep up, and the children move into the next phase of their journey with us at NOK. It is such a fun time of year.
We want to make sure your child has the best time possible at Kindergarten, and that includes staying comfortable and safe throughout the day.
