Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. We stretch the funding over the 48 weeks of the year that we are open. This equates to 11.88 hours per week. For 30 hours funding, we stretch this so that it equates to 23.75 hours per week. Funding is allocated to 9am to 3.30pm sessions. Fees are payable for enhanced resources, breakfasts, lunches, snacks and hours outside of the funding (i.e. late stay club and breakfast club).

Tax-Free childcare is available to every family so long as both parents are earning more than £142 per week and neither earns more than £100,000 per year.
You can claim 20% of your childcare costs from the Government—up to £500 every three months.

We find that children settle really well when they feel that wonderful sense of belonging that comes with being part of a community. In our experience, this is best achieved by children attending a minimum of two days per week. This can be a combination of sessions (e.g. part day or full day) that works best for your child and you. By attending a minimum of two sessions per week, children can easily find their place in a group and feel a part of something bigger than themselves.

We provide a kit list to ensure your child is suitably dressed for all weathers. For a one-off cost inclusive of your registration fee, we supply top quality waterproof sets.

We serve fresh fruit and vegetables every day – included in your fee. Your child will get a hot lunch and snacks, including milk (dairy and alternative) served at the table, where they can experience sharing food together with their peers, with social eating and chatter. And our much-loved outdoor snacks mean blueberries, oat milk and porridge taste all the better for being wrapped in fresh air!

Although we are outdoor-based, we have a log cabin on site and other sheltered and heated spaces for those times when you just need to cosy up. We have a fully functioning kitchen, including a small outdoor kitchen on site, and modern composting toilets.

To discuss a place at Nurture Outdoor Kindergarten for your child, please get in touch with a member of our friendly Admissions team as soon as possible. We will be able to talk you through the next steps, including a visit with your child to NOK and beginning the registration process.
